Colonization and the Wampanoag Story
Thursday, November 214:00—5:00 PMCavallaro RoomHaverhill Public Library 99 Main Street, Haverhill, MA, 01830
Join us this Native American Heritage Month for an engaging program! Participants will receive their very own copy (to keep!) of the book Colonization and the Wampanoag Story by Linda Coombs, which offers a deep dive into the rich history and culture of the Wampanoag people before and during the time of European colonization. We will also participate in a hands-on activity that reflects the themes of the book and connects to Wampanoag culture.
Recommended for readers around ages 10-14 (grades 5-8), but this may vary depending on personal reading level.
Registration is Required*
*Once you have registered, we encourage you to stop by the library to pick up your copy of Colonization and the Wampanoag Story to read in advance of our meeting. However, this step is not required and you can feel free to pick up your copy of the book when you come to the program.
Many thanks to Massachusetts Center of the Book for providing the copies of Colonization and the Wampanoag Story as part of their 2024 Great Reads from Great Places program!
Registration for this event opens Thursday, November 7 at 8:00 AM.
