Outdoor Concert Series: The Fretbenders
Thursday, August 176:00—8:00 PMOutside - LawnHaverhill Public Library 99 Main Street, Haverhill, MA, 01830
New England Americana duo, the Fretbenders, have a sound based in blues, roots music, with a dash of folk and country for good measure. Featuring Diane & Bob Kordas, “Warm vocals blend with tasteful slide guitar, where a "down-home barbecue meets a speakeasy."
Diane provides lead & harmony vocals, acoustic and/or electric guitars and is songwriter for the band; Bob Kordas contributes lead vocals, dobro, National guitar, lap steel, and banjo.
Diane grew up hearing and learning big band swing and jazz and country from her family, Bob listened to and started on banjo in his teens, first learning on his grandpa's banjo. The result is a blend of various genres of music, styles vary from jazzy love songs, sultry blues, folk, rock covers, western swing & vintage and bluesy country - a real rootsy Americana sound.
This concert will take place outdoors next to library. Please bring your own chairs, blankets, etc.
