A winding pathway through an atrium filled with flowers, koi fish, and quail allows visitors to walk among butterflies from all over the world. Staff members are available for questions and “show and tell” demonstrations. A continuously running video explains the butterfly life cycle, and exhibits enable visitors to observe eggs, caterpillars, cocoons and chrysalides with information about each species. A gift shop is on the premises. There is a public picnic area and free parking is available.

The Harvard Museums of Science & Culture is a partnership of museums on the Harvard University Cambridge campus dedicated to the natural world, science, and human cultures. They include the Collection of Historical Scientific Instruments, the Harvard Museum of Natural History (comprised of the Harvard University Herbaria, Mineralogical and Geological Museum, and Museum of Comparative Zoology), the Harvard Museum of the Ancient Near East, and the Peabody Museum of Archaeology & Ethnology, all located between Oxford St./Divinity Ave area. Of particular note are the famous glass flowers, models commissioned by Harvard in 1886 to aid in the teaching of botany (and made in Germany over the course of more than eight decades), on display in the Harvard Museum of Natural History.

This pass entitles the bearer to free parking for one vehicle at over 50 day-use facilities in the state parks system. Pass is not valid for parking at Quabbin Reservoir, the Squantum Point, NorthPoint, or Draw Seven Commuter Lots. Pass cannot be used for camping. For a list of parks please see the Mass. The Museum of Science in Boston is located on a piece of land that extends the width of the Charles River, connecting Boston and Cambridge. This pass will admit up to 4 people at a 50% discount on tickets to the Museum’s Exhibit Halls. Children under 3 are not included in the count of 4 and are always admitted for free. The New England Aquarium is home to thousands of aquatic animals, from the giant Pacific octopus to Northern fur seals to little blue penguins. They offer a wide range of exhibits, including a shark and ray touch tank and the Giant Ocean Tank, a four-story coral reef featuring hundreds of Caribbean animals. In addition, they have an IMAX theatre and run whale watch boat excursions in partnership with Boston Harbor Cruises from April through November.

Located within Odiorne Point State Park in Rye, NH, the Seacoast Science Center has been providing educational experiences on behalf of New Hampshire State Parks since 1992. The center includes hands-on science exhibits (undersea exploration to marine debris), live animal exhibits which feature creatures that live in the rapidly changing Gulf of Maine ecosystem; and many special events, like “Music-by-the-Sea” concerts and “Sippin' for Seals” (dancing and drinks to support the Marine Mammal rescue Program).

Pass Benefits

The pass is valid for one-time use at any of  the Trustees' 116 properties that collect an admission fee. Pass holder will pay an admission fee equivalent to that of a Trustees Family level membership (under most circumstances, this is free).  Find more information about locations with admission fees and advance tickets here or on the Trustees' website.  For any location requiring advance tickets, you will also receive a promo code when you pick up your pass.  Pass is not valid for use at Trustees parking kiosks, stores, cafes, Inns, campgrounds, at special events and programs, or in place of any permits or passes.

After the pass is reserved, it must be picked up at the library Circulation Desk during our hours of operation. The pass does not need to be returned to the library.
